Our projects in the arts and cultural field
Designing inspiring cultural spaces for global audiences
Arts Architecture International has built an internationally recognised portfolio of arts and cultural projects spanning theatres, opera houses, museums, galleries, convention centres, and visitor attractions. Led by David Wright, whose career in the sector spans over four decades, the practice combines architectural creativity with specialist cultural consultancy to deliver inspiring and functional public spaces.
From prestigious international projects such as the Dubai Opera House, Egypt Opera House, and the National Museum Oman, to theatre and auditorium developments across the UK and abroad, our work reflects a deep understanding of how architecture can shape cultural experiences and audience engagement.

Specialist theatre & auditorium design expertise
Arts Architecture International has extensive experience in the performing arts sector, with expertise ranging from historic theatre refurbishments to large-scale contemporary auditorium developments.
David Wright began his career working on the refurbishment of the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford before leading design teams on major redevelopments, including the London Coliseum, Lyceum Theatre Sheffield, Dome & Corn Exchange Brighton, and numerous other theatres in the UK, Australia, and internationally.
Our expertise also extends to new-build performance venues, including the Anvil in Basingstoke and the National Convention Centre Qatar, featuring auditoriums ranging from 300 to 3,000 seats.
Museum & visitor centre design with storytelling at the core
We believe museums and visitor centres should do more than house collections — they should create memorable experiences and tell compelling stories through architecture, interpretation, and spatial design.
Arts Architecture International delivers integrated museum planning services that align architectural design with exhibition concepts from the earliest project stages. Our team works closely with specialist consultants to develop engaging visitor experiences alongside practical operational planning for collection storage, conservation facilities, education spaces, and back-of-house functions.
Our museum and visitor centre experience spans projects across the UK, Oman, the UAE, and Brunei.
Global experience with a collaborative design approach
With projects delivered across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia, Arts Architecture International brings international expertise together with a highly collaborative and tailored approach to cultural architecture.
Every arts and cultural project is shaped around the operational needs, audience experience, technical requirements, and long-term vision of the organisation. Whether designing a theatre, museum, gallery, or visitor attraction, we focus on creating spaces that inspire creativity, learning, and public connection.
