Listed Buildings and Heritage
Our Director, David Wright, has many years’ experience dealing with listed buildings, including the Grade I listed Brighton Dome and Grade II* listed London Coliseum, Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield and Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, and many Grade II listed buildings.
Any work to listed buildings, including domestic premises, requires Listed Building Consent. This applies to internal work as well as external alterations which often also require planning consent.
We can assist clients in obtaining Listed Building Consent by advising them where the pitfalls are likely to occur, consulting or meeting with local conservation officers, amenity groups and statutory bodies such as Historic England, and, where necessary, drafting Heritage Statements, Conservation Statements and Conservation Management plans.
We adopt a pragmatic approach to resolving potential conflicts in achieving access and DDA compliance in historic buildings.
